An Introduction to Psychological Astrology, by Clare Martin

Introduction
Astrology is a form of imagination emerging from nature and having direct relevance for everyday life. It is an applied poetics, a vision of life on earth stimulated by movements in the heavens, which can take us into areas of self-reflection as no other system of symbols and images can. [1]

Create Your Heaven for 2007 - Rick Levine & Jeff Jawer

Create Your Heaven for 2007
Wouldn't it be great to savor a bit of heaven in 2007? It's possible ... just push yourself beyond the usual limits.
Beliefnet Annual Forecast

Create Your Heaven For 2007
by Jeff Jawer
Respect your ideals and highest aspirations this year and push yourself beyond the usual limits. Maintain focus on those desires and you can take a bit of heaven and bring it down to earth where you get to live with it every day.
Controlled enthusiasm and well-managed risk-taking are major themes for 2007. Jupiter, the planet of opportunity and expansion, is back in its adventurous home sign of Sagittarius for the first time in 12 years. This is great news for long-distance travelers, truth seekers and those interested in advancing their education. Unconventional Uranus forms tense 90-degree angle squares with Jupiter on Jan. 22, May 10 and Oct. 9, which can trigger impulsive behavior. Brilliant breakthroughs in awareness are possible, but a desire to suddenly turn your life in a totally new direction should be tempered with a strong dose of common sense. It's natural to be excited, restless and ready to move into a world of ideas and experiences you've never seen before, but the unexpected inspiration can disappear as quickly as it came if you act without proper preparation.

Serious Saturn is in Leo until Sept. 2. The planet of hard, cold reality in this expressive fire sign favors creativity and a playful spirit. However, the challenge is to apply inventive instincts in practical ways and with a lasting purpose in mind. When Saturn enters technically proficient Virgo on Sept. 2, it's time to upgrade skills. Careful attention to detail becomes vital. Saturn's presence in health-conscious Virgo is a signal to ensure that you eat properly, exercise and take your vitamins. Direct oppositions from the ringed planet to nebulous Neptune began at the end of August last year and repeat in both late February and late June this year. Sloppiness will be penalized at these times, so manage your life with greater care than usual. From another perspective, these are times to end old fantasies and begin working on new dreams.

Love and Romance in 2007
by Jeff Jawer
Love and responsibility go hand in hand for most of this year, with serious Saturn in the heart-centered sign of Leo until early September. Even the most solid relationships are likely to require more attention than usual to maintain the flame of romance. Work on being generous and show a willingness to give more to a partner than you ever have before. If your needs are not being met in return, speak up. Be clear about your expectations, rather than giving silently and hoping that somehow your needs will be magically met.
Venus, the planet of love, will be moving backwards (retrograde) from July 27 until September 8. This is a period of backtracking to review past relationship issues and learn from previous successes and failures. Revisiting memories of less-than-satisfying liaisons could be discouraging, but the goal is to recognize where improvements and changes can be made to avoid disappointment in the future. Venus will move forward past Saturn on July 1, pass it again in reverse on Aug. 13, and finally conjunct it one more time on Oct. 13. These are especially important times (give or take a day or two), when a big dose of reality shows us where we stand with love. It's common to be acutely aware of what we're lacking on the first pass, reconsider relationship issues with the second, and make a commitment on the third. Single people can see what steps need to be taken to improve their odds of finding a romantic connection, while those in partnerships will get clarity about how to maintain what they have, see where changes are necessary, or seriously start thinking about moving on.

Chinese Astrology

Chinese Astrology

The Chinese Zodiac is thousands of years old and easily predates its Western counterpart. Even today, millions of believers across the globe consult the Chinese Zodiac regularly.

While Western Astrology is based upon the months of the year, Chinese Astrology is based upon a twelve year lunar cycle. Your sign is determined by the year in which you were born (to be accurate you must use a Chinese calendar). Each sign and those born under it, are represented by one of twelve animals, and are ascribed a set of attributes the Chinese believe comprise the nature of each particular animal. The current Chinese year began on January 24, 2001--a year of the Snake.

Legend has it the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac were chosen by Buddha. When Buddha was near death he invited all the animals to visit him. Only 12 came: the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. For visiting him, Buddha honoured each by using them to represent the 12 phases of the Zodiac.

One of the most interesting uses of the Chinese Zodiac is exploring the compatibility of signs. That is, which duos will make good lovers? friends? partners? Use the tools below to discover how different signs match, to find your sign, or to learn more about any of the 12 signs.
